The Seniors Christmas Party, hosted by the Pastoral Council, took place on Sunday December 13th. As always the proceedings began with Mass in St. Joseph’s Church Tuamgraney, celebrated by Fr. Donagh. Aideen and the Childrens’ Choir provided the excellent music at Mass. The congregation then crossed to Hassett’s Lounge where Christmas Dinner, cooked by Finbarr O’Halloran, was served to over 70 guests. “Santa” paid a visit at the end of the meal and distributed gifts to all the guests, assisted by Fr. Donagh. Larry McEvoy provided the excellent music and song for the next few hours, with Peggy Ryan and Jimmy Ryan also singing a couple of songs. Fr. Donagh thanked all who had made the evening such a success, including the pastoral council, those who had volunteered to help with serving the food, the young people who did the washing up after the meal, Des Hassett for allowing the use of his premises, Finbarr for providing the wonderful food, “Santa” for taking time out to attend the event and Larry McEvoy for the great entertainment.
