On the weekend of 23rd/24th January 2016 , while Parish Priest Fr Donagh was working with locals and volunteers at Sr Ethel Normoyle’s Missionvale Project in South Africa, his church communities at home in Bodyke and Tuamgraney stepped up to the plate and arranged lay-led services.
In a way this was preparation for a time when several parishes in the Diocese of Killaloe will share just one priest and when it will not be possible to have a Mass in every church each weekend. Then it will fall to church communities to hold lay-led services on weekends when Mass is not scheduled for their particular church. In Bodyke & Tuamgraney we hope to be able to keep our two beautiful churches open and vibrant and prayerful on such weekends and the services on the 3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time were just a starting point.
Thanks are due to the choirs and to everybody who participated in the services as well as to the congregations for their patience and reverence.
